“Warrang is the indigenous name for Sydney. The track is an ode to the little details that make up this city: train carriages packed with hi-vis clad tradies, fibro homes in the Western suburbs, kicking back with friends in Chinatown. It's easy to lose sight of the small things under the boom of new apartments and scaffolding.”
— MC Kal

Following their 2018 cult hit ‘Cooked’, Slim Set aka MC Kal and DJ Atro have teamed up with Sydney band Shady Nasty for another banger that reps the place they call home. In Warrang’s intro, MC Kal reflects on the strains of over-development on the city: bulldozers humming, bitument drumming, the sun cries for Warrang, now fibro covered, before the track descends into a punkish flurry of hi-hats, 808s, and noise. Shady Nasty’s front man Kevin DW delivers a booming hook that captures the essence of the track: every nationality under the sun, copping a piece of the red one.

With an equally captivating music video made with long-time collaborator Sejon Im, ‘Warrang’ proves that Slim Set never fails to deliver. Slim Set are going on an 8-show East Coast tour throughout November and December.
