Flowers

Alongside our poets, we also commissioned three artists to create art for our Liminal Presents event at Signal Arts. Mike Eleven, our design director, painted fifty original paintings for our audience, which he has subsequently turned into a .gif – Mike on making his fifty flowers:
"I wanted to keep it frantic and loose, mimicking the process of making each piece. The flowers burst back and forth between just opening to full bloom, loosely representing the meaning of 'liminal' and the in-between phase in which Asian-Australians sit amongst the majority."
